Revitalising Strategy and Aligning Roles

 

Duet Consulting was commissioned by the CEO of this significant century-old firm at a time when the organisation was considering alternative business models and options to assure its future. Duet facilitated a series of workshops with the senior executive team to rethink its purpose and vision, clarify its strategic direction, and review the existing business structure.

The absence of a Human Resources function additionally led to Duet being assigned a range of strategic Human Resources and Organisational Development projects to address a number of “people issues across their national operation. The work involved:
• Strategic HR advice
• Executive coaching for key managers
• Mediation and other problem-solving
• Leadership development
• Clarifying roles and  rewriting position descriptions
• Recruitment and selection support.

The resultant improvements were integrated into the “bigger-picture” redirection and restructuring of the firm and the ensuing realignment of the roles and people.

The outcome has been the Board’s acceptance of the Executive Team’s “reinvention” of the firm’s purpose, vision, mission and objectives, and the related repositioning of functions and people within the organisation.
