Duet Consulting was founded in 1993 by Russell Newman as a strategic organisational improvement, coaching, change facilitation and strategic human resources management practice. Duet is now in its 20th year, enjoying an extraordinary degree of repeat business and referrals, and reflecting the respect and trust built between Duet and their clients.

Russell’s coaching and consulting practices are based on some 25 years’ experience across private and public sectors – in general management, marketing, human resources and organisational development management roles.

Russell’s experience spans health, IT, finance, manufacturing, consulting and sporting industries. He worked initially in public hospitals in finance, HR and general management functions, and then transitioned to the private sector, into Westpac, DMR Group, McDonnell Douglas Information System.

Having post-graduate qualifications in Organisational Behaviour, he began Duet Consulting Pty Ltd in 1993 as a strategic organisational improvement, coaching, change facilitation and strategic human resources management practice. Russell’s subsequent OD studies, research and years of post-graduate tutoring reflect a career-long interest in understanding, mastering and conveying the principles and practices of how to optimise performance at individual, team and organisational levels. His interventions build engagement with staff, management and key stakeholders towards organisational effectiveness, profitability and sustainability.

Russell’s strength is his capacity to effectively partner with his clients to design and facilitate processes – his deep knowledge and engaging style enables the interventions to be extremely well tailored and to deliver solid outcomes for the organisations with whom he consults.

Linda Smith has over 30 years of experience working in both public and private sector organisations. In 2003 she became a partner in Duet Consulting Pty Ltd.

Linda is passionate about the ‘people-side’ of business and is engaged by a range of clients to facilitate processes to enhance performance at individual, team and organisation-wide levels. With her deep understanding of human behavior, performance management, organisational culture, interpersonal communication, interviewing and selection, performance management and change management, Linda adds significant value and effectively partners leaders to bring about lasting change.

Her comprehensive background includes consulting and senior/middle management roles with health, education, manufacturing, retail, IT, legal, and airline industries. This broad experience has given her a strong foundation of knowledge and a track record in successfully designing and implementing solutions.
